Start a civil case
Submit a civil complaint for clerk review and filing instructions.
Before you submit
Identify the parties, the events giving rise to the claim, the relief requested and any related case. The clerk checks submission requirements; a request is not an accepted complaint, a judgment or proof of service. Keep sensitive exhibits out of a public summary. Court staff can explain procedure but do not act as your attorney.
Have these details ready
- Plaintiff / claimant
- Defendant / respondent
- Dates, events and basis of the claim
- Relief requested
- Related case, if any
What happens next
- Prepare the references and facts relevant to your request.
- Submit through your verified account and follow the private request thread.
- Act only on confirmed instructions or an issued order.
Confidential, sealed, privileged and protected information may be withheld or redacted. A request does not override an access restriction.
The clerk will review the request and ask for any further information. No deadline is extended by submitting a portal request.
